Ok, as if it isn't enough to have heart surgery, Kyle decides to break his arm.
He had been itching to go on his bike, all of his friends were riding theirs so he had been counting the days. When the day came that the doctor finally released him to his regular activity he was out the door. He went to Leigh high school to cruise around with his friends. What he didn't take into account was that his friends hadn't had a 2 month break of no bike riding. So when his friends decided to go on jump off the steps, he thought it looked fun too. Wow, he didn't know what happened all of a sudden he was lying there and he didn't want to move. He looked over at his arm and yelled out to his friend Jaden. I think I broke my arm. Yep he sure did it was not pretty. Lucky for him the baseball coach and team was practicing there and saw him fall and ran over to help him. He kindly asked them not to touch him and to call his mom. That was a phone call 6 weeks after heart surgery that I didn't want to get. "Hi this is the coach from leigh high school and your son has had an accident. He has broken his arm and wants you to come and get him. I said, my son, Kyle, you know he just had heart surgery! Yes maam, he told us. Do you know he was just released from the doctors care today an hour ago. I am sorry, I will keep the gate open for you so you can drive on to the campus in the back, Thanks I will be right there. ScREAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,, dance around in a circle, gather the girls and call Terry. I was on my way speeding down harwood, there Kyle was laying still in the position that he fell in chest to the cement arms out legs spread apart. Kind of like the dead man chalk marks. I went to him and the coach helped me to get him up as he held his arm from not falling. It was gross, disgusting but even so I pulled it together and drove, fast as I could to Kaiser. They took us right in and in moments Terry was there too. They took many xrays and finally it was determined that they could only do surgery to repair it but it would have to be done the next morning early. Surgery again! That was funny and heart wrenching at the same time. He couldn't take any pain meds in the morning because he had to have an empty stomach, unfortuately for him it wasn't until 2pm when they finally did the surgery.
All went well and they sent us up to a regualr room to spend the night for observations since he just had heart surgery. The guy next to us was a diabled man and kept me and him up for most of the night. Yelling, Nurse, the tape is over, and nurse my feet are itchy, nurse, nurse, nurse. Nurse I can't reach my applesauce. He was probably 400 lbs. It was no nice to get back home again. The ordeal for the most part was finally over. 2 screws and a plate placed in his wrist and forearm. Look out metal detectors.
