Kauai July 2008

This was a great trip to Kauai. We go every year, and every year we look forward to going again! It is my favorite island, quite, beautiful and real true hawaiian. We always go with Scott and Carol Emily and Charlie and my Mom. This year we also brought Terrys mom Diane with us to Kauai. It was her firest trip to Kauai. It was fun to just relax by the pool and swim in kalapaki bay. Scott and Carol and I were on a search for sea turtles. We scaled the rocks and made our way out almost to end on the bay then jumped in and swam out to see if we could see the turtles. Scott had seen one earlier when we were out trying to learn how to paddle board. But no luck, we were so far out that I am surprised that we didn't see any sharks. Even the locals were giving us crazy tourist looks. Maybe next year carol will see a turtle! We also took a trip up the Waimea canyon. This is the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It was a beautiful view. We stopped along the way on the planet mars. No really, the dirt there is so red from the iron in it that it looks like you are on the planet mars. It was fun.
